Visit Torreciudad, Zaragoza, Lourdes, Loarre Castle, Riglos, San Juan de la Peña and the wonderful city of Jaca.
DAY 1: ORIGIN POINT – HUESCA
Departing from your point of origin to Huesca. Arrival at Hotel Pedro I de Aragón, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: HUESCA – TORRECIUDAD -HUESCA
Breakfast and departure via Barbastro to Torreciudad. Torreciudad is the name of a Marian devotion in the Alto Aragón. The new sanctuary, sponsored by Blessed Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, founder of Opus Dei, with the help of thousands of people, was opened for worship in 1975. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims arrive annually from around the world. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit to Barbastro, the city of Vero. In this monumental area we should highlight the sixteenth-century cathedral, in addition to the Palácio Argensola and Epicospal. Back to Huesca, dinner, dancing and overnight at the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 3: HUESCA – ZARAGOZA – HUESCA
Breakfast and departure to Zaragoza. Visit to the Basilica del Pilar, built on a primitive Mozarabic church, it shows different architectural styles. Of note is the stunning Renaissance altarpiece by Damian Forment, the Holy Chapel and the dome painted by Goya. Lunch at restaurant agreed. In the afternoon visit the Palace of Aljafería, one of the Hispano-Muslim best known things in Spain that we can now visit due to its fantastic restoration. Back to Huesca, dinner and dancing in the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 4: HUESCA – LOURDES – HUESCA
Breakfast and departure to Lourdes (France). One of the first places of pilgrimage that today is a meeting place of universal sharing … where thousands of volunteers accompany the hope of the sick. Visit the Grotto, the basilicas, the spring and the fonts. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon: return to Huesca. Dinner, dancing and overnight at the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 5: HUESCA – LOARRE CASTLE – RIGLOS – SAN JUAN DE LA PEÑA – HUESCA
Breakfast and departure, in order to make the following visits: Loarre Castle, civil romantic building of the late twelfth century, considered national monument. The castle occupies a cliff of about 2,200 m2, is surrounded by a large outer wall. Visit to Riglos, integrated resort in the town of Peñas de Riglos, which have the stunning backdrop mallets of the same name. Lunch. Afternoon: visit to San Juan de la Peña, where we find two monasteries, both national. The most recent one is Romanesque -twelfth century- and was founded by the Benedictines. We will come back to Huesca, to have dinner and overnight at the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 6: HUESCA – JACA – HUESCA
Breakfast. Excursion to the city of Jaca, national artistic place, visits to the Romanesque cathedral, arcaded square, city hall of the fifteenth century, Aragonese Lunch at Jaca. Afternoon: visit to the citadel. Back to Huesca, dinner, dancing and overnight at the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 7: TOURIST HUESCA
Leisurely breakfast and then walk to the cathedral, San Pedro el Viejo, San Lorenzo, patron of the city council, county council and Miguel Servet park. Lunch at the hotel Pedro I. Free afternoon to make your last minute shopping. Dinner, dancing and overnight at the Hotel Pedro I de Aragón.
DAY 8: HUESCA – ORIGIN POINT
Breakfast and departure to your Point of Origin. End of trip.
